Dear Tiny,
Today was a tough day in terms of pregnancy body image. Also, I have a giant pimple on my face. You'll learn about those in about 12 years.

Dear Tiny,
I spent yesterday afternoon with an old friend and his wife and baby. You'll meet baby Elliot when you're out and about in the world; maybe you two will be friends and hang out a bunch as you grow up. It has always been interesting (and since you came along, fascinating!) to see how our friends change as they welcome a new baby into their lives. I'm scared about all of the changes, but Dad and I talk about it a lot and are bracing ourselves for the stress, sleepiness and joy that await us in your first few months.
Please take after Dad and be a good sleeper.
Love,
Mama

Dear Tiny,
Do you know that your Dad and I have a Saturday morning bagel tradition? This morning we talked about how weird it will be when we bring you with us the first weekend after you're born. That really blew our minds!

Dear Tiny,
One of the things I love most about our family is our status as a two-pet household! Oscar and Ollie aren't brothers, but they look like they should be. They fight like brothers and occasionally snuggle too. They have no idea what's coming, but they're already very curious about the new gear in our house (and my new belly!).
I can't wait until you can play with these guys!
Love,
Mama

Dear Tiny,
Today we heard your heartbeat during our monthly check-up. Phew! It's always such a relief to know you're still in there. You were moving a lot today, according to the midwife. She would find your heartbeat for a few seconds and then ZOOM!, you were off exploring. (Sounds like you're our kid, alright...)
Your home is measuring just right: 17 centimeters for 17 weeks. According to our baby apps, you can now hear our voices and we're supposed to sing and talk to you. Too bad Uncle Steve isn't in Brooklyn; he's the most qualified of us all to sing you lullabies!
In about two weeks we'll get to see a picture of you again... we can't wait!
Love,
Mama

Dear Tiny,
One of the biggest mysteries about you is the question of whether you're a boy or girl. Your Dad has always wanted to find out but I myself had mixed emotions before we got pregnant. Now I can't imagine waiting 40 weeks!
We'll find out in about two weeks whether we'll be parents to a daughter or son... isn't it funny? You're still so tiny but you hold the biggest secret that none of us know.

Mama

Dear Tiny,
Tonight I found myself walking a mile home through Brooklyn carrying an enormous breast-feeding pillow that I bought off of someone on Craig's List for $10.
The things I do for you.
Love,
Mama
